On April 28, 2015 two Miami Valley Career Technology students were presented with Northridge Optimist Club awards for outstanding scholarship and citizenship. The club presents these awards annually to outstanding MVCTC students whose home school is Northridge High School. The recipients were Justin Breitenstein from the Network Marketing program, and Colton Campbell from the Air Force ROTC program. In attendance at the presentation were MVCTC counselors Gaye Gerren and Phil Raterman, and Northridge High School counselor Trish Engle, along with Colton's ROTC instructor Sgt. Frank Definbaugh, Justin's instructor John Underwood, Colton's family members, Dr. Jack Poore, Director of Student Services, and six members of the Northridge Optimist Club. The club congratulates these fine young men for their outstanding achievements and wishes them luck in their further ventures in higher education, and in the pursuit of their respective careers. The club also wishes to thank the staff at MVCTC for hosting the event and providing an excellent lunch.
