• The speaker at the May 20 meeting was Jack Kuntz, Development Director for Harrison Township. Thanks to Jack for offering updates on township events since his last visit to our club in November of 2013. For a full report on the meeting see the meeting minutes available from the "Members" page.

• On Wednesday the Northridge Optimist Club Scholarship Awards were given out at the Northridge High School awards ceremony. Jim Orrill, Roger Thomas and Jan Fader attended the ceremony on May 21, 2014.  Roger gave a brief speech and he and Jan then presented the scholarship certificates to the 15 seniors that the committee had chosen. Many thanks to the committee of Jim (Chairperson), Jan, and Roger, for their diligent efforts in making the selections. Thanks also to Northridge Counselor Trish Engle, MVCTC Counselor Phil Raterman, and our club Scholarship Coordinator Randy Zuercher for their valuable input.
