Meeting of November 17:
Tina (left) is presented a thank-you certificate by her sister Ann The speaker was Tina Rezash Rogal, Manager of Digital Marketing at Cox Media. She spoke about the impact that digital media have on our everyday lives, and their effect on marketing. Some of the digital trends: The average mobile user picks up their device 1500 times per week and spends three hours a day on a mobile device. When broken down into our "Four Screen" world, we spend an average of 147 minutes on a cell phone, 50 minutes on a tablet, 108 minutes on a desktop or laptop, and 113 minutes on television. All of this gives marketers insight into our interests and buying habits which drives marketing trends such as geo-precise targeting, retargeting and contextual targeting. There is also a trend in the use of more apps in marketing as opposed to websites. The members in attendance enjoyed the following Q & A and discussions. Thanks to Tina for a fascinating presentation. It was especially nice to have her visit our club, since she is Ann Morrissey's sister, and has also served as a judge in our Optimist Essay Contest for the past few years.
Denny Mantel Christmas Sharing Program:
The 2015 Denny Mantel Christmas Sharing Program has been scheduled to be held on Saturday, December 12. Club members and other volunteers will meet on this day to buy groceries and deliver them to the families for the holidays. Northridge Optimist Club in the News:
The October issue of "Dividends", the publication of the Northridge Board of Education, features a story on our 32nd Scholarship Scramble event. "Dividends" is sent to businesses and residents in the Northridge district. Most of page 3 of the publication is devoted to our event. It includes a list of sponsors and donors, so it provides good exposure for our supporters as well as for our club.
